Building Power Maintenance scheduled for our Los Angeles, CA location

Start time: 05:30 AM PT 01/26/2024

End time: 07:30 AM PT 01/26/2024

Expected Duration of Test: 2 hours

Our datacenter will be conducting a live Generator Transfer Test on 01/26/2024 at 05:30 AM PT until 07:30 AM PT. During this time, DC staff will be testing their systems to verify that the load is successfully transferred to the backup generators by the Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS). Moreover, that the generators will carry the load for an extended period of time. The datacenter is running this test to make sure we are fully prepared for an actual commercial power outage if one were to occur.

Customers should NOT be affected by this testing unless there is an issue with the back-up systems in place. This would, of course, be an unforeseen issue as we are always committed to our continuing preventative maintenance on all datacenter critical equipment. If there is an issue with our backup systems, we will immediately abort the testing and transfer back to commercial power. DC staff will be on site during the maintenance to oversee the testing.

UPDATE 2300 EST
MX Window has been extended due to BGP connection issues with the ISP. Our team is actively working to resolve as fast as possible.

Charlotte Datacenter Move is scheduled for Monday, October 2nd.

In conjunction with activities that have taken place in Dallas with NextArray acquisition and Flexential
, we are also moving out of the Flexential data center in Charlotte, NC. We have been working for the last couple of months to secure space north of Charlotte at Segra's datacenter.

Segra is an enterprise facility that has plenty of room for growth and we are excited about the future operations of Segra
. Segra has been constructing a brand new data center near the Charlotte, NC Airport, that should be ready around March or so of 2024 - No need to discuss this further right now. On Monday, we have been cleared to collect our equipment and transport it up to our new facility. Luckily, we don't have nearly as much footprint in Charlotte as we do in Dallas, so it will be much easier. We have a team of 4 people who will be handling the equipment move with the utmost care.

First thing Monday morning
, we have an activations bridge call as they activate our services. Once I get the green light that everything is good to go, we will begin powering down equipment and moving to the new facility north of Charlotte. Total downtime expected is around 4-6 hours. We keep everyone posted on the estimated start time come Monday morning, and as always, keep everyone informed on our progress of the move. We are continuing our commitment to our customers and look forward to having this Flexential nonsense behind us once and for all and having strategic providers who also care about our customers as much as we do!

Service Impacting Maintenance
We are going to be onsite at our Charlotte Datacenter, 4/15/23 to making changes to our routers. We will be starting around 8:30AM EST and should have all impact work done by 10:00AM EST. We only expect downtime to last a brief moment, but are slating for up to 15 minute sections of downtime. The plan: We have a standby router in place that will be taking the load, while we make pretty heavy changes to our primary router. We are implementing recursive routing and failover to our carrier networks in Charlotte. For all you nerds out there, read up on recursive routing and failover, and you'll understand why we are doing what we are doing

If all goes well, you guys can expect similar activities to take place in Dallas next week. This SHOULD be one of the final service impacting maintenances for Charlotte for a while. This has been a multi-month long plan, and we are finally getting to being where we want to be. Love you guys and have a great night!!!
